Frequently asked questions

Updated by Rory

Answers to common questions about calendars, Curvo's meeting notetaker, recordings and the Companion desktop app.

Getting started

How do I get started with Curvo?

Accept your invite, sign in and connect your calendar. The calendar connection lets Curvo find your upcoming meetings and send the notetaker according to your company's recording policy.

Quick start for sales reps covers the full setup. If you're setting up Curvo for your company, start with Set up your workspace. For an overview, see How Curvo works.

Which calendars can I connect?

Google Calendar and Outlook.

Open Calendar Sync and select Connect on your calendar's card. When setup finishes, the card shows Connected.

Meeting bots

Why didn't the Curvo bot join my meeting?

Check your calendar connection, the meeting's settings and link, and then your company's recording policy, in this order:

  1. Open Calendar Sync and make sure your calendar shows Connected.

  2. Open Upcoming on the Meetings page. Find the meeting and check it's set to Notetaker or Realtime AI, rather than Off.

  3. Check the calendar event has a Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams link.

  4. Ask your workspace Owner to check company Bot Settings. If Global bot scheduling is set to Off - manual meeting bots only, Curvo schedules nothing automatically. The recording policy can also limit bots to meetings your team organises, skip internal meetings or exclude specific domains.

Set your company's recording policy has the full checklist. If all of this was correct before the meeting, email support@curvo.ai with the meeting title, date and start time.

Do I need to connect my calendar?

You need one for Curvo to find meetings and send the notetaker automatically.

Without one, you can still add the notetaker to a live call. Open Meetings, select Instant Bot and paste the meeting link. Companion can also spot and record a call without a calendar. See Meetings in Companion.

How do I control which meetings Curvo joins?

Your workspace Owner sets this for the whole company, including whether Curvo joins internal meetings. See Set your company's recording policy. You can then change a single upcoming meeting, as described in the next question.

Available on selected workspaces: if each team member has their own notetaker, your Bot Settings tab also has Upcoming meetings, Recurring meetings and Internal meetings switches. These work inside your company's policy. On other workspaces, that tab only shows the notetaker's name.

Can I stop Curvo from joining one meeting?

Yes. Open Upcoming on the Meetings page, find the meeting and select Off.

If you can't change the setting, hover over it to see why.

What is the difference between Off, Notetaker and Realtime AI?

Option

What happens

Off

Curvo will not join

Notetaker

Curvo joins and records

Realtime AI

Curvo joins, records and opens the live companion. Available on selected workspaces

Can I invite Curvo after a meeting has started?

Yes. Open Meetings, select Instant Bot and paste the active meeting link. Instant Bot works with Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams links.

Why was Curvo waiting outside the meeting?

Some meetings hold participants in a lobby or waiting room until the host admits them. If nobody admitted the notetaker, the meeting shows Curvo not admitted, and there's no recording or transcript.

Ask the host to admit it when it appears, under your company's notetaker name, such as Acme Notetaker. The host can also change the meeting's settings so it can join without waiting.

The notetaker couldn't find a meeting from the link, so there's no recording or transcript. Check that:

  • The calendar event has the correct link.

  • The link points to the intended meeting.

  • The meeting has started.

  • You supplied the full Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams link.

For a live call, try the correct link again through Instant Bot.

Recordings and analysis

Why is there no recording or transcript?

Open Past on the Meetings page and look at the meeting's row. It shows the reason when Curvo can identify one, and opening a meeting Curvo couldn't join gives more detail.

What the row shows

What it means

What to do

Curvo not admitted

The notetaker waited in the lobby and wasn't let in

Ask the host to admit it next time

Meeting link not found

The link didn't lead to an active meeting

Check the link

Recording not permitted

The notetaker joined, but the host didn't allow it to record

Ask the host to allow recording when it joins

Bot Off

Curvo was set to Off for this meeting

Set it to Notetaker on future meetings

Recording too short

The recording was too short to use

Contact support if the meeting ran longer than that

Failed processing

Something went wrong after the call, for example no audio was detected

Select Retry, or contact support

Transcribing, Queued or Analysing

Curvo is still working on it

See "Why is my meeting still processing?" below

Where can I find my meeting summary, transcript and clips?

Open Meetings, select the completed meeting and use the tabs on the meeting page: Overview, your sales framework on sales meetings, Notes, To-do and Ask Curvo.

These articles explain each area:

Why is my meeting still processing?

Curvo works through the recording in stages, and the meeting's row shows where it is: Transcribing, Queued, Analysing, then Ready. Retrying means a stage is being run again. The summary, transcript and other results appear on the meeting page when it finishes.

If a meeting stays on one stage much longer than you'd expect, email support@curvo.ai with the meeting title, date and start time.

Can I upload a recording from a meeting Curvo did not attend?

Yes. Open Meetings and select Upload. On a phone, the option is called Upload a recording.

Uploads must be MP4 files of no more than 2 GB. Curvo processes the recording and adds it to your meetings.

Curvo Companion

What is Curvo Companion?

Companion is Curvo's desktop app for help during meetings. It can record from your computer with no bot in the call.

Download it from the Companion page and follow Installing Companion. It runs on Macs with Apple Silicon and on 64-bit Windows.

Why isn't Companion detecting my meeting?

Companion spots a call from the meeting window on your computer, so this doesn't depend on your calendar. First, check it's running by looking for the Curvo icon in the Mac menu bar or Windows system tray. Then, on a Mac, check Accessibility is granted under Settings > Permissions.

Troubleshooting Companion covers this, along with recording, transcript and sign-in problems.

Access and administration

Why can't I schedule a bot, upload a recording or change a setting?

Your seat, your account's subscription or your company's settings may not allow it. Curvo usually shows the reason when you try. Self-serve accounts can also reach a free meeting limit.

Ask your workspace Owner to review your access. These will help them:

How do I contact Curvo support?

Select Support in the left sidebar of the web app, where chat is available, or email support@curvo.ai. If your company has a shared Slack channel with Curvo, you can also ask there.
