Troubleshooting Companion

If Companion isn't working as expected, work through the steps below before contacting support. Most Companion issues fall into one of three categories: permission problems, connection issues, or audio configuration mismatches.
Companion Isn't Detecting My Meetings
First, confirm that Companion is running. Look for the Curvo icon in your Mac menu bar or Windows system tray. If the icon isn't there, Companion may have crashed or been closed. Relaunch it from your Applications folder (Mac) or Start menu (Windows).
If Companion is running but not detecting meetings, check that your calendar is connected in the Curvo portal under Settings → Integrations → Calendar. Companion relies on the same calendar connection as the Instant Bot to know which meetings to listen for.
Companion Is Running but Not Recording
The most common cause is a microphone or screen recording permission that was denied during installation.
Mac
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and confirm that Curvo Companion has access
Also check Screen Recording in the same menu. Companion needs this to capture audio from video conferencing apps.
Windows
Go to Settings → Privacy → Microphone and ensure Curvo Companion is allowed
After granting permissions, quit and relaunch Companion for the changes to take effect.
The Transcript Is Missing or Inaccurate
If a meeting was captured but the transcript looks wrong, the most likely cause is audio routing. Companion captures your system audio output, so if your video conferencing app was using a different audio output device (e.g. a Bluetooth headset routed independently), Companion may not have captured the meeting audio cleanly.
Check your system audio settings and ensure your meeting output device matches the one Companion is monitoring.
Companion Won't Log In
Confirm you're using the same email that was used to invite you to the Curvo workspace
If you recently reset your Curvo password, log out of Companion and back in with the updated credentials
If your workspace uses SSO, you'll need to authenticate through the browser-based flow rather than entering a password directly in the Companion login screen
