Roles, seats and who can see what

Curvo has four roles: Owner, User, View-only Owner and View-only User. Owners manage the workspace, and Users record and work with meetings. Each View-only role matches its counterpart, except that it can't create or record meetings.
The four roles
Role | Description in Curvo | Seat it uses |
|---|---|---|
Owner | All permissions | Member seat |
User | Can view team meetings and add meetings | Member seat |
View-only Owner | Owner access except creating or recording meetings | View-only seat |
View-only User | User access except creating or recording meetings | View-only seat |
Available on selected workspaces. The View-only roles appear only on managed accounts where they have been switched on. Ask your Curvo contact if you need them.
A workspace can have more than one Owner.
What each role can do
Action | Who can do it |
|---|---|
Open Shared meetings, and meetings you own or are a participant on | Every role |
Open Private meetings owned by a User or View-only User | Owner and View-only Owner, if Workspace owner access is on |
Record meetings, add a notetaker or upload a recording | Owner and User |
Edit a meeting's summary | Every role |
Change a meeting's visibility or share it externally | Owner and View-only Owner on any meeting they can open. User and View-only User on meetings they own |
Edit a deal's stage, amount or close date | Owner and User |
Edit playbooks | Every role |
Delete playbooks | Owner and View-only Owner |
Connect your own calendar | Every role |
Open Reporting | Owner and View-only Owner |
Use the Company settings, including the CRM, Sales Framework and company Bot Settings | Owner and View-only Owner |
Invite, archive and restore people, and change roles | Owner and View-only Owner |
Someone on a View-only seat who tries to record sees: "Your seat cannot create or record meetings. Contact your owner to change your seat."
Owners can't open a Private meeting owned by another Owner or View-only Owner unless they are a participant on it. For the full rules on meetings, see Who can see a meeting.
Change someone's role
You need to be an Owner or View-only Owner.
Select your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then select Settings.
Under Company, select Team.
On the Active tab, choose the new role next to the person's name.
Select Save role changes.
You can't change your own role, so another Owner or View-only Owner has to do it for you.
Moving someone between a member seat and a view-only seat needs a free seat of the new type. If there isn't one, Curvo shows "Failed to update members." and nothing changes.
Invite, archive or restore someone
These all happen in the same Team page.
To invite someone, select Invite member. If the person is already in a Curvo workspace or has a pending invite, Curvo tells you and doesn't send a new one.
To cancel or resend an invite, select Revoke on the Invited tab, then invite them again if needed.
To remove someone, select Archive, then Confirm archive. They can no longer sign in. Their past meetings and other work stay in the workspace.
To bring them back, select Restore on the Archived tab. This needs a free seat of the matching type.
How seats work
Team shows your seats used and available, for example "4/5 used, 1 available". Pending invites count as used. How you add seats depends on your account type. If you don't see a Billing tab under Company in Settings, your account is managed.
Managed accounts
There is no Billing tab. View-only seats are available on selected workspaces.
When seats are full, Add seat and invite adds one seat, then sends the invite. The Curvo team is told about the new seat.
Archiving someone frees the seat for someone else.
To change seats directly, speak to your Curvo contact.
There is no recording limit.
Self-serve accounts
The Billing tab is shown. View-only seats aren't available.
Curvo doesn't block an invite when seats are full, but you need an active subscription to invite anyone. The seat is added when the person accepts, and the charge applies then.
Archiving someone removes one paid seat.
To change seats directly, use Add seats or Remove seats under Billing.
Without an active subscription, each person can record up to 5 meetings free by default.
