Build your playbook in Playbook Studio

Updated by Rishav

You build your playbook in Playbook Studio, which opens when you select Spaces in the left sidebar. A playbook is a collection of knowledge topics. Each topic pairs the questions that bring it up with the approved knowledge your reps can use.

If Spaces isn't in your sidebar, your company has hidden it.

Default Playbook counts every topic. To create another collection, open the playbook menu and select New playbook.

Add a knowledge topic

  1. Choose a playbook from the menu. The new topic joins that playbook.

  2. Select Add Knowledge Topic.

  3. Enter a Knowledge topic title, such as "Price objection".

  4. Choose a Category: Objections, Technical Product Knowledge, Competitor Battlecards or Uncategorised. It starts on Technical Product Knowledge.

  5. Under Example questions, write the question the way a buyer would say it out loud, such as "Why is Acme more expensive than the tool we use now?"

  6. Under Knowledge, write the approved answer. You can use Markdown.

  7. Select Create Knowledge Topic.

Curvo prepares the topic and adds more example questions, then the page refreshes when it's ready. While that runs, you'll see "New topic is enriching". Save on this browser only keeps a draft in that browser, so it doesn't create the topic.

Edit and review topics

Select a topic to edit it. Use + Add question for other phrasings you hear, then select Save Knowledge Topic. Canonical scoring facts, in the same window, are used to score role plays.

The tabs above the table filter topics by status:

Depends on the topic's status

Changing a topic's knowledge marks the new version Needs review. An Owner or View-only Owner selects Approve or Discard. The previous Live version stays in use until then.

If you delete a playbook, its knowledge topics are kept.

Import calls, decks and documents

Import opens Playbook sources, which has three tabs:

Tab

What you can add

Collateral

PDF, DOC or DOCX, up to 50 MB

Transcripts

TXT or PDF, up to 50 MB

Connectors

Files or whole folders from Google Drive or OneDrive, once you select Connect

To add a source:

  1. Select Import, then choose a tab.

  2. Leave Process automatically on to start as soon as the upload finishes. If you turn it off, the source waits until you select Mark ready in Sources.

  3. Drop a file into the box or browse for one. For a connector, select your file and then Import Source, or choose a folder and then Import folder.

Curvo extracts playbook content from your sources. Check All and To review for what it finds. If a source fails, Playbook sources lists it with the reason.

Manage your sources

Sources sits next to Playbook Studio at the top of the page. It lists your calls, decks and documents, and Add source opens the same import window. New folder creates a folder, and a folder passes its tags down to everything inside it.

Select a source to see its details. There you can use Move to folder, add Tags and set a Score with a note on why the source matters. The All, Untagged and Unscored buttons narrow the list.

The Status column tells you where a source has got to:

How topics reach your calls

Available on selected workspaces.

During a call, Curvo listens for what the prospect is asking about and compares it with your Live topics. When the prospect raises one, the rep sees the topic's answer in the Live widget in Companion. See The live meeting view. The prospect doesn't need to use your example questions word for word.

Curvo loads your Live topics near the start of each call, so a change you make during a call applies from the next one. If a change isn't showing, check the topic is Live and start a new call.
